Undetectable.ai vs WriteHuman: The Conflict Case Study (2026)
Two AI humanizers whose public assessments contradict each other, and one benchmark run by WriteHuman itself. What is on the record, and why this comparison picks no winner.
This comparison does not pick a winner, because the public evidence on Undetectable.ai and WriteHuman points in opposite directions. One benchmark places WriteHuman first and is run by WriteHuman. Another places Undetectable.ai last and names no operator. The record is useful for seeing how this market grades itself, and it is not enough to support a verdict.
The record, as tabulated
Every figure below is attributed to the source that reports it. The three rows come from a comparison of AI humanizers that tabulates these leaderboards, checked on 2026-10-14.
| source | operator | undetectable.ai | writehuman |
|---|---|---|---|
| HumanizerBench (October 2026) | WriteHuman, which the benchmark states | 3rd of 14, score 71.18 | 1st of 14, score 74.89 |
| AI Humanizer Benchmark (October 2026) | Not named | 11th of 11, score 33.60, bypass rate 1.8% | 7th of 11, score 75.06, bypass rate 97.6% |
| Best AI Humanizer (Substack, 27 July 2026) | Published as “Humanize AI”; no author named | 79.7% | 74.1% |
What the conflicts show
The first problem is that the conclusions are opposite. The same product is third of 14 in one benchmark and last of 11 in another. A gap that size is not a small measurement difference. It appears when the benchmarks do not share a test set, a detector list or an accountable operator.
The second problem is the conflict of interest, which is on the record. HumanizerBench places WriteHuman first, and it states that it is operated by WriteHuman. WriteHuman’s own homepage cites a first place in HumanizerBench, and it does not say on that page who runs the benchmark. This desk lists WriteHuman with a conflict note for that reason.
The third problem is the size of the bypass spread. The two bypass rates for the same pair, 97.6% and 1.8%, come from a source with no named operator. A number that large from an unidentified source cannot be checked, so we do not treat it as data.
What the official pages let us compare
Both official sites name an operator. Undetectable.ai’s homepage gives a free start, and in its FAQ says that paid plans unlock higher limits and advanced features. Its footer names Undetectable Inc. in Sheridan, Wyoming.
WriteHuman’s pricing and homepage lists plans at $12 per month for Basic, $19 for Pro and $39 for Ultra when billed yearly. It also lists a free trial of the humanizer. Neither page publishes a test set or a signed method for output quality, so those fields stay out of our catalogue.
Who each one is for, as the vendors describe it
- Undetectable.ai presents itself as a humanizer inside a broader suite that also detects AI text and images. Its own FAQ describes the core tools as available for free to start.
- WriteHuman presents itself as a humanizer with a built-in detector, a Chrome extension and an API, and it highlights its place in HumanizerBench on its homepage.
These are the vendors’ own descriptions. They tell you what each product claims to do, and they do not show which one does it better.
What to do with this record
If you are choosing between the two, decide on the features you need and the terms you accept. Read each vendor’s terms of use, its data-handling terms and its acceptable-use rules. Those documents govern what you may do with the output, whichever tool you pick.
Whatever you decide, the rules you are subject to still apply. Academic, employment and publisher policies cover the work regardless of which humanizer touched it. For the method behind this desk, see /methodology. For the detector side of the same debate, see /ai-detector.

FAQ
Which is better, Undetectable.ai or WriteHuman?
We do not rank either, because the public assessments of this pair contradict each other. Undetectable.ai is 3rd of 14 (score 71.18) in HumanizerBench and 11th of 11 (score 33.60, bypass 1.8%) in AI Humanizer Benchmark. WriteHuman is 1st of 14 (score 74.89) in HumanizerBench, which is operated by WriteHuman, and 7th of 11 in AI Humanizer Benchmark, whose operator is not named. No honest better-than verdict follows from that record.
Is HumanizerBench a reliable AI humanizer ranking?
It cannot be treated as an independent one. The source we checked says HumanizerBench is operated by WriteHuman, which places first in it. WriteHuman's own homepage cites that first place but does not say who runs the benchmark. Read any benchmark run by a market participant as that participant's claim.
What about the 97.6% and 1.8% bypass figures?
They come from AI Humanizer Benchmark, whose operator is not named, so we report them only as attributed figures and not as facts. Bypass rates are the vendor's own claim, measured on its own samples, and this desk does not score them.
